Waking up early on Saturday and Sunday mornings is against the very essence of being Dushyant. Yet, He manages to get me out of bed with a leap and wag my tail furiously like a dog who just found out he was about to go for a walk.
To all who think formula one motor sport is not inspiring enough, I suggest you stop thinking. To all those who have not yet begun following the sport of Gods, I plead that you do. And soon!
This Sunday, I was rewarded with another Ferrari – Schumacher win. And while, this time too, he drove like a man possessed, I was extremely impressed with Ferrari’s clinical pit stop strategies and execution. To see him exiting the pits four seconds ahead of Alonso was perhaps the best sight I have seen this season. Renault was beaten, fair and square.
Don’t get me wrong. I have tremendous respect for anyone who drives a car fast. I accept that Alonso is terribly quick but his attitude after losing a race dissolves all admiration for him. The last race he dismissed his second position by saying that it was a fantastic result and that he still got eight points. This race too, he said, it was a fantastic result.
And in all practicality he is right, He could potentially be the world champion at the end of the season if he manages to come in second all the time. But he will never earn my respect, because like Michael, I only believe in only one adage.
That in every race and every competition, no matter how many points the second prize is awarded…Winning is everything.
Alonso does make you lose respect for him by this attitude of his. He is too focused on the championship versus winning each race.
However, winning isn’t everything – wanting to win is. That fire is worth everything including the possibility of losing. Which explains the reason you are willing to take risks – you may lose, but you are risk that for the chance to win.
Ajay: I am incline to agree with the “wanting to win” comment. I did however imply the same with “Winning is Everything” also including other factors like luck into it.
guess everyone irrespective of luck n all factors involved know tht nothing succeeds success and just to achieve that, is motivation enough to go out there n do all u can!
I guess its better to be 2 in case circumstances demand it….that’ll mean you live to fight another day…rather than saying “it has to be 1 or 0.”
Really D? Is winning everything?? Take a long, hard, good look at ur life so far…and think of all those times u lost (coz I am sure there must have been atleast once where u did) and in retrospect, u realise it was the probably for the best..
Anyways, right now, revel in the scarlet fever, coz u don’t know how long this is going to last!
Take care.

Mahesh, Pallavi : Ah! such mature voices making so much sense, your comments seemed like my concious was talking to me. I would be a full to deny what you guys said but unfortunately you guys missed my point.
That right now, in this moment, when tomorrow is not a concern, Winning is everything.
Errata fix: In my first comment directed towards Ajay, “incline” should be “inclined” and in my second comment, “concious(sic)” should be “conscious” and “full” should be “fool”. I apologize.
D!! I love the way u play with ur words…having fully agreed to what we said, we are back on square one – living for the moment where winning is everything!!
Ghooma phira ke…woich!!!
Hahahaha…Cheers, n a good weekend to you.
