It is no surprise that despair hit when Michael Schumacher left. I was clueless, helpless and confused. My direction in life was wavering at best. Eventually, it was the engineering brilliance of Formula 1 and my dislike for Hamilton kept the passion alive. Having made through the hump, I followed the sport just as intensely. However, every time I would spot Kimi sleeping at the wheel, I could not help but be nostalgic over Michael.
But now, no more! He is back. In the ugliest of circumstances but in the most desperate of times! When I need him the most! To show how going back to the old, is not always a bad idea.
Yes, he is 40. And yes, his neck might not be the tree trunk it was. But his heart is still beating strong. And his ability to drive beyond what’s possible in a car will never diminish.
Driving a sub-par car this season might be difficult. He might not even finish the race. But the mere thought of him sliding back into the cockpit of a formula 1 car, sliding his gloves on and shutting that visor shut is already tantalizing enough.
Welcome back my liebe Michael. To ride each chicane! To challenge well established braking zones and to man handle 800 horsepower into my nicest of inspirations!
I was expecting a post here. It must feel like watching Steffi in Wimbledon again (happened last month) and it made no diff whether she won or lost!
Ups: Yes, did i share the same passion for tennis, your analogy would stand true 🙂
Dude, I was hoping to start following F1 again!
Ferrari is now campaigning for three cars next season so they can have Michael.
